Aaron Carter has split from his girlfriend, who he met on Instagram, Madison Parker.
A source told ET Online
the 'split was very amicable' and 'Aaron is continuing to focus on his
personal self with regards to his truth, health and music.'
Just
last month he claimed to want to have children with Madison and even
get married to her, saying, 'I wanna be engaged to my beautiful
girlfriend, Madison'.
The revelation
comes after the 29-year-old singer and younger brother of Backstreet Boy
Nick Carter shocked fans with the candid confession over the weekend

wrote: ''To start off, I would like to say that I love each and EVERY
ONE of my fans. There's something I'd like to say that I feel is
important for myself and my identity that has been weighing on my chest
for nearly half of my life.
'This doesn't bring me shame, just a
weight and burden I have held onto for a long time that I would like
lifted off of me. I grew up in this entertainment industry at a very
young age and when I was around 13-years-old I started to find boys and
girls attractive.
'There were years
that went by that I thought about it, but it wasn't until I was 17-years
old, after a few relationships with girls, I had an experience with a
male that I had an attraction to who I also worked with an grew up
with.'
Speculation: Before his
revelation, Aaron was linked to internet personality Chris Crocker in
2016, calling Crocker his 'man crush' in a now-deleted tweet
He
ended the post with: 'The best quote to sum "I've never felt as though I
didn't belong. I just acted as though I did." - Boy George.'
In
2016, Carter was linked to internet personality Chris Crocker, known
best for his Leave Britney Alone video, after they posted a series of
cuddly shots together.
Aaron, in a now-deleted tweet, referred to Crocker as his man crush at the time.

Neither side confirmed that they were in a relationship at the time and it has not been addressed since.
Aaron has famously dated Hilary Duff as a teenager, and he is currently dating Madison Parker.
The star recently told Entertainment Tonight: 'I wanna be married. I wanna be engaged to my beautiful girlfriend, Madison'.
