Quite a difference: Katie
Waissel has shared the results of her healthy new lifestyle after
admitting she turned to alcohol following the collapse of her marriage
'I wanted to put my most vulnerable self out there today. Putting this picture together made me emotional,' she wrote.
'Looking
back it makes me sad that I was so unhappy back then, and that through
this incredible journey I found the strength within myself to make a
change and finally found happiness.'
She added: 'I
never thought that day would come but it did. Me myself and I got
through, we conquered, and honestly, couldn't be better! Find YOUR
strength and belief within YOURSELF today!
'Hold
your head high and KNOW YOUR OWN SELF WORTH thank you to my family for
being a huge part of what is just the beginning of the epic next
chapter.'
Pleased as punch: The singer
also showed off her peachy derriere in tiny thong-style briefs as she
vowed to have found happiness after completing her grueling fitness
regime
Tough time: Katie spiralled into a deep depression, was drinking too much and gained weight
The
star previously discussed how she spiralled into a deep depression,
drank too much and gained weight after she claims husband Brian
Moote had cheated on her in an interview with MailOnline.
Katie's
marriage ended shortly after her CBB stint last year when she
discovered Brian had been sleeping with a neighbour after she had moved
to New York City, while the pair still trying to work things out.
She
explained: 'Brian and I were planning on starting a family. All of that
had gone to s**t and I was sat there thinking, what am I going to do
with my life?
She explained: 'Brian and I were
planning on starting a family. All of that had gone to s**t and I was
sat there thinking, what am I going to do with my life?'
'I’d
really hit rock bottom. I was miserable. It was awful and I was doing
everything in my power to not deal with it. Then I moved to a new city.
'I
was hoping there was a possibility that I could still make it work. It
was really, really hard. I felt lonely. I wasn’t taking care of myself, I
didn’t know what I wanted to do and I felt really lost.'
Katie
revealed that while she was struggling mentally, her health took a toll
because she stopped caring about herself and gorged on fatty foods and
wine in a bid to numb her pain.
Transformation: Katie has been
sharing before and after pictures of her body on her social media
accounts, as she charts her progress during her fitness journey
She
said: 'I tried to get on with things, but I noticed I was eating lots
of BLT sandwiches, drinking red wine while watching The Real Housewives
and I got into this depressed routine of getting on with life but not
really being confident about myself.
'I
gained more than a stone in weight. I got into a routine of staying in
on my own, buying a bottle of wine and drinking it in front of the telly
and getting a takeaway. I just didn’t want to deal with anything.'
Katie
admits her lowest point came when she realised all her friends were
moving on with their lives and getting married or having babies, while
she was stuck in a rut.

The
singer revealed she experienced something of an epiphany, realising
drastic action needed to be taken in order to change her life.
'It
was a Friday night about nine weeks ago, I’d gone through my second
bottle of wine and I thought, I can’t do this anymore', she said.
'I
cried my eyes out, and was like, oh my god, what am I gonna do? The
next day I decided that I wanted to change myself from the inside out.
'I
started meditating and looking at things from a spiritual level. I
realised that if I was happy on the inside then it would show on the
outside.'

documented her journey back from flab to fab on her Instagram account,

Discussing
her newfound body confidence, the brunette enthused: 'I started off at
140lbs and I’m now 123lbs. Truthfully I didn’t want to go on the beach
in my bikini, and I’ve never experienced that before because I’ve always
loved health and fitness.
'Now that my
body is transforming I definitely fell more confident. I love that
everyone’s really encouraging a healthy lifestyle now, whereas back in
my day growing up it was all about being heroin chic thin. Now it’s all
about working out and having that healthy body.'
The
TV personality says she exercises for an hour five times a week, taking
part in group classes like spinning and intensity interval training
Inspired
by the community feel, Katie has set up a new business called My
Fitness Friend, aimed at helping those who feel too nervous or lacking
in motivation to go to a gym class alone.
She
explained: 'A lot of people don’t want to go on their own. I’ll provide
people with an intent to start their lifestyle journey, a buddy to
along for the ride with.
'I’ll help them with their specific goal alongside providing nutritional advice and emotional support.'
